DAO - Policy, Strategy and Information

Policy, Strategy and Information provides a "central point" of coordination for drug and alcohol activity.

Core functions are:

Development of strategic, systemic and an evidence-based practice to service and program delivery;
Strategic coordination including the integration of the Drug and Alcohol Office, Government, alcohol and other drug sector and community; and
Strategic communication incorporating all aspects of the agency internal and external transfer of information.

Policy, Strategy and Information key activity areas are:

Policy and Strategy;
Monitoring, Evaluation and Research;
Aboriginal Alcohol and Other Drugs Programs;
The Library; and
Media and Public Relations Activities.

Policy, Strategy and Information works collaboratively with other sections of the Drug and Alcohol Office, other State Government Departments, the Commonwealth, community groups, the tertiary sector and other stakeholders. The overall aim is to ensure the delivery of a coordinated series of activities, broadly consistent with the WA Drug and Alcohol Strategy.
