The Workforce Development Branch aims to enhance the capacity of specialist and mainstream agencies in health, mental health, welfare, education and justice to respond effectively to alcohol and other drug-related harm through evidence-based practice. The key strategies involve the translation of evidence into practical responses and assisting organisations to adopt new and supportive practices.
The Workforce Development Branch provides support to agencies, workers and community members through:
- Professional education and training
Develop and deliver customised training at the preservice and inservice levels to increase the capacity of individuals and agencies to respond to AOD issues with clients.
Provide mentoring, clinical supervision and policy development in partnership with agencies.
Develop and disseminate clinical guidelines and publications, and audiovisual materials for agencies to enhance responses to AOD issues.
