Clinical training and placement opportunities for Medical Practitioners, Psychiatrists, and Clinical Psychologists wanting to gain experience in alcohol and drug assessment and treatment are available through Next Step Drug & Alcohol Services. Undergraduate clinical placement opportunities for medicine, nursing, social work, and psychology students can be arranged through the clinical placement coordinator of your tertiary institution.

Community Program for Opioid Pharmacotherapy (CPOP) Training

Community Clinical Programs (CCP) provides training and support for medical practitioners involved in the Community Program for Opioid Pharmacotherapies (CPOP).   CPOP Training enables medical practitioners to appropriately assess opioid dependence, safely prescribe methadone and buprenorphine, and comply with CPOP policies and procedures.  CCP also provides training and support to CPOP pharmacists, pharmacy staff, and general practice staff.

Clinical Advice and Information

The Clinical Advisory Service is a 24 hour statewide telephone service for doctors or other health professionals seeking advice about patient management from an alcohol and other drug medical specialist.
