ST248 Better outcomes for clients with comorbidity
Monday, 3 August 2009, 9.00 am – 4.30 pm

The following event is only for people working in the AOD sector.

Presenter: Gary Croton, Clinical Nurse Consultant, Eastern Hume Dual Diagnosis Service, Victoria

This one-day workshop will further develop worker’s skills and confidence in facilitating better outcomes for clients with comorbidity. The workshop will review various approaches to identifying co-occurring mental health symptoms and disorders; develop skills and knowledge around Mental State Assessment processes and terms; increase knowledge of various mental health treatment options as well as increase knowledge and skills around seeking and providing effective secondary consultation in relation to mental health symptoms and disorders.

The primary aim of this workshop is to increase workers enthusiasm for, and self efficacy around, identifying and dealing effectively with AOD client’s co-occurring mental health symptoms and disorders.
