About this event
To attend Part 2 training, participants are required to have attended KA/ST036 What is volatile substance use? – Part 1 or other equivalent introductory VSU training.
This workshop will explore the challenges and barriers to working with volatile substance users and provide an overview of current best practice approaches to engaging this group.
Topics will include considerations for effective engagement, intoxication management, assessment models, brief interventions and recommendations from the National Health and Medical Research Council’s Consensus Based Clinical Practice Guidelines for the Management of Volatile Substance Use in Australia
. There will also be an opportunity to apply the information using case studies.
For health professionals who work directly with volatile substance users
While all events are free, places are limited and registration does not guarantee a place at an event. If you are offered a place, we ask that you make a commitment to attend. If you are unable to attend, please let us know as soon as possible – as we may be able to offer your place to another applicant.
