About this event
Fetal Alcohol Spectrum Disorders (FASD) is a sensitive and complex issue. The Strong Spirit Strong Future: Promoting Healthy Women and Pregnancies
Project developed this workshop from consultation with Aboriginal communities and experts in FASD and prevention. This workshop provides information on alcohol guidelines, FASD and prevention strategies for professionals who are working with Aboriginal women of child-bearing age who may be using alcohol.
Skills for conducting brief interventions and screening for alcohol use will be included in the training. Participants will receive culturally secure resources to support their work in this area.
Human service providers who work with Aboriginal women, their families and communities.
While all events are free, places are limited and registration does not guarantee a place at an event. If you are offered a place, we ask that you make a commitment to attend. If you are unable to attend, please let us know as soon as possible – as we may be able to offer your place to another applicant.
