Presented by Sharene Kocsis and Judi Stone, MHC

About this event

Fetal Alcohol Spectrum Disorders (FASD) is a sensitive and complex issue. The Strong Spirit Strong Future: Promoting Healthy Women and Pregnancies Project developed this workshop from consultation with Aboriginal communities and experts in FASD and prevention. This workshop provides information on alcohol guidelines, FASD and prevention strategies for professionals who are working with Aboriginal women of child-bearing age who may be using alcohol.

Skills for conducting brief interventions and screening for alcohol use will be included in the training. Participants will receive culturally secure resources to support their work in this area.

Target audience

Human service providers who work with Aboriginal women, their families and communities.
