Training for Aboriginal workers

Our Aboriginal Alcohol and other Drugs Program is considered a national leader in the delivery of culturally secure training of drug and alcohol workers.

Aboriginal people working in the drug and alcohol sector can enrol in our nationally recognised training program, the Aboriginal Alcohol and Other Drug Worker Training Program: CHC30112 Certificate III in Community Services Work.

CHC40412 Certificate IV in Alcohol and other Drugs is a nationally recognised training program for Aboriginal people interested in working in the drug and alcohol sector and those currently working in the sector. Initially the program will be offered to people that have completed the Certificate III in Community Services Work delivered by the Drug and Alcohol Office (or the equivalent units). The training will build on knowledge and skills in responding to drug and alcohol issues and related harms in Aboriginal communities. In addition the training will provide information on mental health issues and co-occurring disorders.
