Women and Newborn Drug and Alcohol Service

The Women and Newborn Drug and Alcohol Service offers medical and social support to pregnant women who are using drugs and alcohol.

Services include:

  • counselling
  • close medical monitoring during pregnancy
  • regular ultrasounds
  • information about the effects of drugs and alcohol on you and your baby during pregnancy
  • information about drug and alcohol treatment options.

Part of the Women and Newborn Health Service at King Edward Memorial Hospital, the cost of the service is covered by Medicare.
