Government of Western Australia Drug and Alcohol Office

Alcohol and Drug Information Service

The Alcohol and Drug Information Service is a confidential, non-judgemental 24 hour/seven days a week helpline for anybody seeking assistance with alcohol or other drug use.

For people who speak little or no English, see help for alcohol and drug users or help for parents, partners, family and friends.

Professional drug and alcohol counsellors will listen to your concerns and provide emotional support.

The Alcohol and Drug Information Service will provide you with information about all aspects of alcohol and other drug use, treatment options and agencies, and where you can access ongoing support.

For alcohol and other drug-related information, see about drugs and about alcohol.

The counsellors will explain the different treatment options available and refer you to an appropriate service, other counselling services and support groups in your local area.

The Alcohol and Drug Information Service also maintains a service directory, which lists all alcohol and other drug services across Western Australia.

Help for parents and families

The service provides the counselling component of our helpline for parents and families, the Parent Drug Information Service.

Quitline WA

For tobacco users, the Alcohol and Drug Information Service provides counselling through Quitline.
