ADIS is a 24 hour, statewide, confidential telephone service incorporating The Parent Drug Information Service and the counselling option of Quitline WA. ADIS is staffed by professional drug and alcohol counsellors. ADIS provides:

Information
Drugs, effects, testing, legal issues, drug courts, types of treatment, services, needle exchanges, prevalence, patterns of use, self help groups. ADIS produces a biennial bulletin, fact sheets when required and maintains the on line directory of alcohol and drug services www.dao.health.wa.gov.au
Counselling
Harm minimisation strategies, brief interventions for family members, ongoing counselling for people unable to access community based services. Counselling and support for victims of drink spiking.
Referral
ADIS is the access point for people seeking assessment for services for withdrawal or for Methadone or Buprenorphine (Subutex) maintenance. ADIS also provides referral for community based counselling and rehabilitation services, counselling and various other campaigns.
Withdrawal Services
Support calls over weekends and public holidays for people in withdrawal (this must be prebooked by the agency managing withdrawal).
Mail Out
Information about drugs, services or parenting.
Services for health/welfare professionals and volunteers:
Consultancy
Quick access to information about drug use, its impact on individual and family functioning. It can also connect you with appropriate services.
Debriefing
For volunteers in the alcohol and other drugs and blood borne virus sector.
Interpreters and Translators (TIS & TTY)
ADIS or PDIS will cover the cost of translation for callers from linguistically diverse backgrounds. Call 13 14 50. People with hearing or speech impairment can also access the service by calling 13 36 77 and quoting one of our contact numbers. This will cost no more than a local call.
