PDIS is a 24 hour 7 day a week confidential information service specifically provided to assist families experiencing difficulties with substance use. Callers are provided with counselling information and referral to appropriate agencies. This service has been specifically developed in response to the identified needs of parents for information, support and advice in raising the issue or addressing the problems of substance use within the family setting.
Parent-to-Parent Support
Callers can opt to speak to a trained parent volunteer (all have experience of children with alcohol or drug problems). Parents also offer information/support at the Drug Court and the Children's Court.
Interpreters and Translators (TIS & TTY)
ADIS or PDIS will cover the cost of translation for callers from linguistically diverse backgrounds. Call 13 14 50. People with hearing or speech impairment can also access the service by calling 13 36 77 and quoting one of our contact numbers. This will cost no more than a local call.
